Favorite new way to do my BKT lanyards

I'd seen in someone else's thread about Becker lanyards where Moose talked about how he liked a lanyard with a sliding pinch of some sort on it so it could slide down and turn a lanyard loop that will catch on things while walking through the bush into two harmless pieces of paracord when not in use. If this doesn't make sense hopefully my pictures will help. I decided to try and make one with a ranger bead.

My bead didn't turn out quite as nice as the one in the video but it seems to work pretty good! I think I'm gonna make these for my 2 and 9 as well.

(Please excuse my picture quality, my camera needs replacing)

I used the Paracordist's video to make the bead if anyone wants to try it out:

I tried it with a cobra knot but I didn't like how it looked.

I figured this wasn't groundbreaking or anything, but a couple people might not have tried this and may want to.

Since I suck at knots I do the same thing but with a plastic cord lock.

Looks good man.

een-struk-shoons, please!
I like the look of the k-not.

Did you gut the paracord for the false turks head, or leave the strands intact? I only ask because, if you gut that cord, and leave the main portion of the lanyard intact, the knot 'bites' better and wond slip down as easily when chopping with a heavy blade. There's my .02 worth, I am a paracordist follower also!

I've got cheater beads for my tweeners. Haven't decided on big ones yet maybe I'll do something like this.

Wow I was just thinking of cool ways to make lanyards with paracord! Awesome I will definitely look into this when I get home. I just made a lanyard for my BK9 but didn't think about it getting caught on stuff...

I didn't gut the cord but that's a good tip, it does seem to slide pretty freely. I don't see it being a problem on my 16 as I won't be using it for chopping but I will definitely heed your advice when I make the lanyard for my 9!

Nice! Looks similar to how I do mine (just a regular diamond/lanyard knot at the end) but much more functional! Will have to give it a try for sure!
