and can I work this stuff without special drill bits (carbide bits) and bandsaw blades? Thanks.

Roger

I've used it a bit. Easy to saw with a regular hacksaw, and I've never had any problems with drilling it with normal drill bits. The dust is really nasty and gets all over everything, so good dust collection and a good respirator are absolutely essential. Like G-10, it hand files and han sands very easily, so it's easy stuff to work with, if it weren't for the health hazards and mess.

Roger, you can drill it with regular bits,I use a backing block when drilling it,it will splinter when the bits breaks through,be careful they will stick you real quick and it is hard to get out from under your skin.

Chuck Bybee is the best place to get it from and he has differnt patterns.
shoot me an email and I can hook you up with him,he is a top notch guy

Don't try to cut it on a band saw,it will throw sparks, don't ask how I now

I cut the F-18 stuff which has a coarse weave on my metal cutting bandsaw with no sparks and it cuts really nicely and easily. Drilling is a mess, though. I buried two really long, nasty splinters in my thumb as I wiped the hole off to see my work. Dumb move. I've used a fair amount of CF and that was the dumbest thing I've ever done. Anyway, I wonder if Nathan was using a regular bandsaw with a fast-moving blade to cut it? Hacksaw with bimetal blade goes through it like butter, too. The carbon acts as a self-lubrication, I think. The stuff is a complete mess to work with. It's truly a love/hate relationship!
