Right now id have to say a 6'6" med. st. Croix spinmaster with a penn 4300. Its the all purpose one that gets er done! What are yalls favorite rod and reel combos?

BPS Pro Qualifier baitcast reel on a Shimano Compre Rod. That bass pro reel is really nice, and they always run specials in the winter .

6' med. action Berkely Lightning casting rod with an Abu Garcia Silver Max reel, spooled with 50-lb. test Spiderwire braid (!!!!!) Used for bass, cats, and the occasional alligator gar.

Depends what I'm fishing for honestly. My all time/ all around, most used go to favorite is a 7' Gander Mt. GSX titanium medium rod with a Gander GSX titanium 40 series spinning reel, 2 spools one with 8lb. fluorocarbon, the other with 12lb. moss color braid. The combo I have the most fun using though is my 11/12 weight Ugly Stik fly rod with an Orvis Hydros 6 reel on it, spooled up with about 200yrds of 17lb. high abrasion salt water line.

My 4'6" G Loomis rod sports a Pflueger President 6720. It is my favorite for anything that I catch in the local streams from native trout to smallmouth bass.

Spinning outfit is a Loomis TSR 681-2 with a Shimano Cardiff Ci4 2000 SS (4 lb Seaguar Senshi).

Baitcasting outfit is a Major Craft Volkey 652 UL/BFS with a Daiwa PX68 (8 lb Seaguar Senshi).

I mostly fish for trout with a spinning rig. My favorite combo is a 5'4" light action full cork handle rod with Shimano Stradic 1000 spinning reel. I have a slightly heavier rig with the Stradic 2500 also. I need to pick up another Stradic reel as a spare. I have a couple spare rods and most recently have purchased a Bass Pro Shop Micro Lite ultra light rod that is pretty stiff on the butt end which is what I like basically. Stiff rod with fast tip... I keep looking at rods. Can't be happier with the reel or the reel series.

This year most of my fishing was done with a fountainhead stonefly tenkara rod for panfish and a cuban yo yo reel for catfish

Favourite casting setup is a 7 foot Powell Diesel crank bait rod with a Pflueger Patriarch 6.4:1 widespool. For spinning gear it's Fenwick HMX rods with either Pflueger patriarch or president reels, or a few with quantum energy PTi reels.

I did some component swapping and testing during my last coastal fishing trip to Copano Bay in Rockport, Tx looking for the best balance and feel with what I had and to help determine what equipment changes I might want make. We rented a house for 4 days right on an inlet connecting a lake to the bay and its was well set up for night fishing on the dock plus I trailered a boat and brought my kayak so I could make evaluations in different settings. I put in some serious fishing hours (mostly Speckled Trout) with a lot of different combinations and and ended up using the following combos the most.

6 ½’ Castaway SLX3 Wade Fishing 8-14lb Rod
Daiwa Coastal 153H Casting Reel

Cabela's Xtreme Saltwater Large Arbor Fly Reel
St. Croix Legend 9' 8/9wt Rod

I changed up my son's spinning combo and put a Cabela's Salt Striker SS30 (Metal body) on a 6'7" Carrot Stix E21 spinning rod and it made for a better balanced and casting combo than my more expensive Quantum/All Star setup. All said and done I ended up with a list of rods and reels to sell/trade/gift and a shorter list of what I would like to replace them with as I have way too much that has accumulated over the years. Next project - freshwater fishing gear evaluation.

Freshwater: Shimano Curado 100b with Falcon Bucoo Micro BMC-66MH

Saltwater: Shimano Calcutta 200gtb with Falcon Lowrider LFC-6-168

Probably my ardent evercast on my w&m micro honeycomb finesse worm/fluke
Best shakey head setup yet
