Carbon Stockman, of course!

34OT Middleman
8OT Senior

I've been a devout SAK user for years until I discovered the 1095 carbon blade stockman. I absolutely love the size, functionality and value of the Middleman. It is one of my favorite EDC. The Senior seems to get the call during the weekends when I'm in jeans and working outdoors.

Awesome knives! Easy to keep sharp, inexpensive to buy and replace, and very easy to find in stores. ft

I like them all....

However, I have more of a thing for the schrade walden stockmans, with jigged delrin handles, like the 896, 899, 825, etc.

I also like the 293 trapper.

Although, my EDC right now is an 808. Nice size for the pocket. And sharp? Oh baby!

Maybe I should just list the ones that aren't my favorites :D

I like alot of them, but my favorites are the 8-OT Senior stockman and the 96-OT Bare-head trapper. That trapper is very useful, and the pick and tweezers are really handy. I think the tweezers are better than the ones on a SAK.

And the 8-OT is just flat out awesome. I have one in my pocket right now! Takes a great edge, holds it long enough for most cutting chores, and the whole knife is just rock-solid!

My favorite of my collection of older Schrades is a really nice split backspring serpentine whittler, 3-9/16" long closed. It has a "wharncliffe" style frame, but the main blade is a sabler-ground clip blade. The secondary blades are a small clip and pen.

I have it in three different handles - slick black, jigged brown bone, and smooth wood. Each one has a nice crest shield in the handle.

Oh....if they only still made patterns like this...I can't think of a more practical EDC.

There really isn't another line which gives you the quality for the low price. I carry the 7OT on my belt all the time and usually have a stockman in my pocket at work.;)

PH1 with stag handles.
Really nice hunting knife.
When hunting, I also carry a Buck nighthawk for bigger jobs.

Larry and Glennbad;

Just in case you're interested, a reminder that there is a NCCA Knife Show in Marlboro, MA on this Sunday 11/23.

Go to www.ncca.info for more details.

My vote goes to my PH-2 Pro Hunter. A bit smaller than the PH-1. Its classic Thomas Lamb handle shape, popularized by R.W. Loveless is
made to fit like the proverbial glove. This model is esentially discontinued except for an occassional limited run in one form or another. A production model with maroon micarta scales would be a quantum leap over the older delrin models.

I'm finishing a contract and will be in the office probably right through the weekend. Starting Sat at 03:00 (thats am!). :(
Ive been trying to get to the NCC shows.
I'm probably gonna get to the one in Jan. Let us know how the show goes.
Thanks
Larry

For me it is the little Spitfire, my EDC. What do I use it for? To make fresh lemon tea in the office :p

I never pass up the chance to tell of my favorite schrade; the 97OT Buzz saw in the nice leather belt sheath. I carry a couple of knives when hunting, but this is always one of them.

Knifeaholic,

Thanks for the heads up.

However, the little woman has me working on this new addition we've just had built. (besides, the Pats will be playing)

I haven't been to a show in years, probably a good thing cause I'd blow lots of cash on knives...

I'll have to try to make one soon, though.
