I was just wondering what you guys liked best, for sporting purpose, so no short barreled scatter guns!!
I just sold a Benelli, super 90, and picked up a H&K Red Lion, gas operated Semi Auto, I have yet to shoot it. I am soon gonna be buying a Franchi Alcione Veloce, 20ga O/U.
What about you???

after the take our guns away they're comin after our knives

At the moment it would be an old Winchester 1897 I picked up about 2 years ago. It originally had a 30" tube, but had a bend out near the end, and has been cut back to 24". It has been reblued, and the stock looks like it had been chewed up by a hungry porcupine, so there was no collectors value, but the action is nice and tight.

Good woods gun. Seems to shoot where it looks just fine.

What? Another knife? Don't you have enough of those things already?
How many does one person need?
And just what are you going to do with this one that you can't do with the others?
What is the purpose of all these knives anyhow??

NICE GUNS, JIM!!! How do you feel about the Beretta O/Us in 20 ga?

Use a 20ga O/U 26" Italian made (not a big name, I'm at work and don't remember)

My newest is a 12ga U/O Browning Citori Upland special w/ english stock.

Both are used for those pesky Ruffed Grouse.

I recently sold a Baretta 682 o/u combo. Great gun, was a 12 gauge though. I am a bit concerned about the 20 gauge in the field and possibly geting one in the barrel of one of my 12 gauges. I know a few people that like the 20 gauge for field and even sporting clays.

I finally got around to shooting my new Fabarm Red Lion, I must say hands down it outshoots my Benelli!! If you are looking for a new semi auto, take a serious look at these!

My favorite is the only one I own.

Mossberg 500, ghost ring, orange ramp, speed feed stock.

$150.00, total, less than 1k rounds though it.

My old Mdl 12 Winchester pump. I got it when I was 16 with grass cutting money in 1957. When I was in the Marine Corps a buddy (gunsmith) in the MTU reblueded it (the old deep royal blueing) and buffed out the wood. It's slicker than snot and comes up to my shoulder perfectly. It's hard for me to miss with a full choke and 28" bbl and has taken lots of game from doves to deer. The only problem is it is a 16 gauge! So now I'm forced to use my Browning o/u lwt Citori 12 mag. Nice gun but still doesn't point like the old Mdl 12. If I had to have one gun for everything it would be the Remington 870 pump (I've had two)with a rifled slug barrel and a 28" barrel, vent rib with the replacable choke system. The price is right, you can't wear them out and the 3" mag chamber will shoot anything you put in it (even paper shells I had to use in a third world country) Weldonk

For 'tactical' and defensive classes (and use ...) I'd go with an 870 that was worked on. Not much work to be done really, but some nice sights, and a side saddle for specialty rounds etc.

Model 12's ... With all the adjustments, this shotgun will last forever

Red Label 20 for grouse and an 835
Mossberg for lowering the turkey population. both reliable.

I'm a certified knife knut but something of a novice when it comes to guns. I like shotgunning a lot (sporting clays and skeet, mostly) and am looking to purchase a shotgun. Right now I shoot infrequently, using a buddy's gun or renting one at the range. Question for you guys: Why the heck are over/unders routinely so much more expensive than pumps and semi-autos? Seems like there's a whole lot less technology involved (which pleases the old-school technophobe in me!). I'd like to one day get a good working o/u for less than $1,000. Possible?

Very possible!! Look into the American Arms Silver series and the new Traditions Field II line, both are very nice guns for the money, American will run about 550.00 and the Traditions will be about 750.00 The Traditions being the nicer gun is actually made in Italy by Fausti Stephano, and has a nice tight action.
