I live in Connecticut where the legal EDC length is 4" unless you are engaged in a sporting activity when it can exceed this limit. I'm looking for advice from those of you who have experience with the smaller bladed Busse knives (including but not limited to the mean street, basic combat #3, and active duty.) Which is your personal favorite and why?

My favorite is the Active Duty. It is the perfect size for EDC, and fits perfectly in the hand. The blade shape is great for common cutting needs as well as self defense. Add to that it's great looks and RAZOR SHARP edge and you have a fantastic little knife.

I think most will agree the Active Duty is the best EDC fixed blade I've ever seen.:D

Hey, a fellow Connecticut resident!

My Active Duty is on the way (Thanks Jerry!) and I have a Bead Blasted Assault Shaker. I like my AS, but I know I'm going to like the AD much better. The blade shape and the handle all make for a better EDC. I'll reserve the AS for backup duty.
Now, if I can find a MS cheap...

Wouldn't want to pick between the LMS and the AD;) :D
Either would make a great EDC!!!

The MS family seems to be a better fit for for those who have huge hands. The MS family has a longer handle which allows the pomel to stick out for striking. It is my favorite Busse.

I love my Mean Streets for a smaller blade, but this AD is growing on me.

Still, a 5/16" Mean Street gives you a handful, while the LMS gives a
thinner profile for those who prefer it.

( Sorry if that doesn't make sense. Dang percocets...)

Maybe I can intercept some of Skunks West bound Infi and find out myself this weekend;)

I've been working on cracking that "Vacume Tube" thingy he had built to ship the INFI out West directly from the shop in Ohio.
Sleepless nights....Loooong daaaays....but I'm getting closer;)

Having had an Assault Shaker, and owning both a DW Mean Street and an Active Duty, I'll say the AD. It's a phenomenal knife. Other knives I putz with a bit from time to time, and use them when the occaision warrants. The AD, though, I can't seem to put down.
