What are some thing that you look forward to on/around Thanksgiving.
Myself, I'm looking forward to helping my wife bake some pies in the kitchen tomorrow, Wed. We had a lot of fun last year doing this.
I'm also looking forward to my mom's creation... maybe she didn't invent it, and it's simple, but it's GOOD, and I only get it on Thanksgiving day. It's a puff pastry (pillsbury, I think) stuffed with creamed corn and baked. I think she does the cream corn herself though... damn good stuff. And then there's the stuffing, and the gravy, and the turkey, and the mashed potatoes.....
and that jelly blob stuff straight out for the can that's supposed to be cranberry sauce.... :D
Have a good Thanksgiving all. I love this holiday.

For me, it's all about the dinner. I'll eat light the whole day, just so I'll be a bit more hungry when it's time for dinner. I've always been a big fan of turkey and stuffing. I usually look forward to the leftovers, nothing quite like turkey, stuffing and gravy sandwiches. That might change this year though, since it looks like I'm gonna be spending the holiday by myself.

It's also been a tradition for me to watch the original Star Wars trilogy on Thanksgiving. I guess I could watch the new trilogy this year, but..nah..

Chris, I'm sorry about the alone thing. If you were closer, I'd see if I could sneek you in. I have one recommendation for you: HUNGRY MAN turkey dinner, it's what I did a couple times.... ;)

Eh, no biggie Walking Man. It's more of a personal choice, since I'm going to be working until midnight the day before. I think I just might have to give those Hungry Man dinners a look:D

My favorite Thanksgiving foods are homemade stuffing, kielbasa and sauerkraut (warms you up on cold nights), ham, sweet potatoes (real sweet potatoes, not that canned crap), homemade apple pie with whipped cream on top, and homemade butterscotch cookies. Since my only job is to make the stuffing, I sleep in, I've woken up long after the "turkey dance", and I might help out with the ham (yeah, I'm lazy, but I can't cook). It's also my job to make last minute grocery runs, which thankfully are few and far between over the years. Breakfast might consist of an egg sandwich or a bowl of oatmeal/cereal.

The real fun starts the Friday after Thanksgiving. Since work is like a ghost town, I always come in the Friday after Thanksgiving, and basically get my work done early, and then go out to lunch with some friends. Friday morning, get up real early (don't want to spend all evening at work), and fry up some stuffing in the pan, some ham, and some eggs and kielbasa. I look forward to it every year with a passion. :)

The football games, and sitting next to my 2nd cousin, Christine...She is HOT.:D.:D.

I cannot believe I am 51 years old and have 7 grandchildren (all but one under 6).I also have four daughters and two delightful young foster daughters that have been with us for over a year. Can you guess what I will be doing? Actually if it warms up we will crank the snow machines up.I bought one of those Arctic Cat Kitty Cats at a yard sale this summer and can not wait to get these little guys on it.Since I moved to Alaska from Arizona over 25 years ago over 20 family members have moved here . A good part of them will be stopping by.My wife is famous for her down home cooking and with what my daughters and others bring we will have a fest that will last through the weekend.I have a lot to be thankfull for.
