FAVORITE THREADS that belong here

Good idea! If you guys can find the threads and post a link here I am willing to run around and fetch them.

Wait a minute. If you do fetch them and move them here, won't the links we're posting quit working the the threads just end up getting buried HERE eventually?

What about making this a sticky instead?

.

Links still work after a thread gets moved. The main thing, though, is if they get buried here where they belong, a search of this forum will find them.

Good idea for a thread, Jim -- Thanks!

Here's one from the Shoptalk forum on cleaning up a blade that has light oxidation setting in. There's a lot of good advice and additional links in the thread, but the advice I ended up taking was from MarkPinTx on using a green Scotchbrite pad. I used it in the way he suggested, and it cleaned up my bead-blasted Busse Basic 5 in short order--looks great, and it's easy to keep it looking that way by repeating the treatment. Also, now I don't worry about every little spot that shows up--I just wait until I'd like to restore that "crisp" look to the blade and do it all at once. Great tip for keeping users looking fresh.

Here's the thread:

Hi all, I am new to the fourm and right off the bat I Have a question.
On the FGX Karambit knifes, are these one use knifes and then you throw them away or, can you resharpen them and continue to use them? They seem to be a combination of high impact plastic and fiberglass or somthing. A
lso, can they pass through a metal detecter?
Robert.
