I've managed to damage the lock on two folding knives (S&W bullseye and Buck Crosslock) and snap off part of the blade on a CRKT Prowler. All under heavy use bordering on abuse. Given the damage I've been inflicting, I think it's time to look at fixed blades.
What is everbodies favorite "toolbox" knife / sharpened prybar?
I'm looking for a 3"-5" overbuilt fixed blade. It has to have a plain edge, and NO black blade coating. I'm willing to give up a lot of edge retention and hardness for toughness and easy of field sharpening. I'm also on a pretty tight budget, so think Buck or Gerber, not ZT or Emerson.
