I've managed to damage the lock on two folding knives (S&W bullseye and Buck Crosslock) and snap off part of the blade on a CRKT Prowler. All under heavy use bordering on abuse. Given the damage I've been inflicting, I think it's time to look at fixed blades.

What is everbodies favorite "toolbox" knife / sharpened prybar?

I'm looking for a 3"-5" overbuilt fixed blade. It has to have a plain edge, and NO black blade coating. I'm willing to give up a lot of edge retention and hardness for toughness and easy of field sharpening. I'm also on a pretty tight budget, so think Buck or Gerber, not ZT or Emerson.

CRKT razzel I think. Its a razor shaped blade with a chisels ground on the tip comes in 3 sizes and a folding version. I think the 2012 model would be waht your looking for its 3" long and 1.5" wide chisels tip for prying scraping ect. They are not too expensive mabey 40-60 bucks. You probly goign to spend a bit more than you wanted but it sounds like the tool your looking for.

Countycomm EOD ROBOTICS BREACHER BAR it's 1045 steel half knife half pry-bar cost $15 and another $15 for a kydex sheath

The hollow grind on the CRKT razel concerns me since there's not a lot of material backing up the edge. The Breacher Bar definitely has some possibilities.

What about the CRKT MAK-1 or ABC ER? They're a little out of my price range, but...

I like the Esee and Becker offerings for your intended needs - oh, and you can strip the coatings pretty easily.

I like the bk14 for a small fixed blade but use my bk11 as a beater because it is older and not as pretty. Will stand up to anything.
