For those who prefer some tooth in a blade, what is your favorite way to finish the edge? Lately, I've been pretty happy with the results from the ceramic side of my Fallkniven DC4, followed by light stropping on plain leather, but I would love to hear what everyone else does.

Thanks!

I've been using a Norton Fine Crystolon lately & it gives me a pretty toothy edge, not positive what Grit the stone is though.

The Crystolon is the only stone I currently have that will cut my S110v Manix. Any suggestions on a set of waterstones that will work well with steels such as s110v, S90,K390, & M4? I saw Jason B recommending Shapton & I've been looking into them, just wanted to make sure they will work well with the steels I have.

Lately, I have been working with S110V. This is my new fun steel. I have been playing around with this technique and getting fantastic results: I set my Wicked Edge to 18DPD. I take the steel through the gamut of 100grit, all the way to .5 micron diamond paste on a leather strop. That puts a beautiful, shiny, read the newspaper edge on the S110V. Then I take the Sharpmaker with the brown stones and run it on the edge about 4-6x each side. According to my Angle Cube, my Sharpmaker is set at 22.5DPS. So I get a mirror main edge with a 22.5DPS micro bevel. This edge is the absolute best edge I've ever achieved on any steel. The S110V should hold it for a VERY long time. Then, 4-6 passes on the Sharpmaker brings it right back. The grit on the brown stones of the Sharpmaker runs around 600-800. Nice "tooth", but still will push cut receipt paper.

I do like Vegas Blade.

For my EDC, I use the Sharpmaker at 30° and work down to the Ultra Fine rods. Then about 10 passes per side on the Medium rods at 40°. Touch ups are usually a few passes on a strop or the Med rods.

The grit on the brown stones of the Sharpmaker runs around 600-800.
According to Sal, the Medium rods run about 15u which puts them about 1000.

TravisH, you're right, my mistake. I knew I liked them. That range is my favorite. Thank you for the correction.
