Hi all,
Since getting my Edge Pro, the real reason traditionals are amazing has really come to light for me. When properly profiled and sharpened, they cut like nobody's business. I'm sure this is news to no one here! While normally I pick my Emerson or other beefy folder for outside work, I have been using my little CV Sodbuster Jr, in bone. Today it cut through some thick weed-whacker line. So what is everyone's favorite traditionals for getting stuff done? I know threads like this have been done before, but I always love hearing what people use, and any pictures in use would great too.

Case Stockman, Case Large Stockman, Buck 301, Victorinox Farmer, Queen Country Cousin, various others. I have modern knives as well as other tools, so if something needs doing I grab whatever tool is appropriate for it. I won't list the modern knives I use because of the sub-forum restrictions. If whatever I have in my pocket is up to the task, then it gets used. Otherwise, I go get something else.

SAK Rancher is my go to "hard use" traditional. Soddies both big and small are also fantastic for doing the tough work.

The big Klein Tool folder is up to about any hard knife work.

My Vik Fisherman is always in my right pocket, and I'm always amazed at the uses I find for it. One thing I've learned about SAKs is to avoid one that has a corkscrew in place of a phillips blade. I don't drink, but I do need screwdrivers when I'm away from the tool boxes.

Recently got a Camillus 68 Premier Stockman at a flea market, and have been carrying it, but not going to abuse it. Even if it looks like it would be capable.

And don't forget the Camillus 23 jack.
Big, and sturdy.

This is my go to "dirt work" knife right here. #77 Canvas Micarta Barlow:thumbsup:

View attachment 780810 It’s impossible to go wrong with a sodbuster for a workhorse. I used one for many years on a produce farm and it served very well.

Cutting the weed build up off the weed eater.

I am dying for a Bullnose. I love my Case, but it is not nearly as solid as my GEC Mako is. A Farm and Field looks like a perfect working blade.

It sure is Rick! It rides on my hip at work, and sees all kinds of duties. The 5160 Drop point is really a nice version of the 112.

I do like that drop point blade. If I ever get one that's the blade I'll choose.

Your 112, being fairly new but already well used, reminds of a guy at work for some reason. I've worked there for 27 years and he was there when I started. Ever since my first day there he has carried the same 110 on his belt. Many times I have wanted to ask him about his knife but he's a rather reserved gentleman and I have always held back.

He retires next week and seeing your knife has convinced me to talk to him about his 110 while I still have a chance.

Kind of an odd story, I know, but that's what your knife made me think of.

This Taylors Eye Witness , which may be over 120 years old , is my favorite knife to carry when I know that I am going to be doing some work . I probably carry it more than any other one anyhow . It is a real handful and as solid as a rock . It has been in my pocket today too .

My workhorse is pretty much the same knife that I carry almost every single day, my Camillus C4 saw scout. I can cob together almost anything with this knife.

If I need something truly beefy and strong, and require the security of a lock, I grab my Mudbug.
