I prefer one or two blade knives. Jack knives like the Case Texas jack, the Case mini trapper and the GEC model 66 and various two blade barlows. Single blade knives like my single blade sowbellies, my TC (Tidioute Cutlery) Barlow, various single blade trappers, single blade lockbacks such as my Gerber Silver Knights and mini copperlocks. I also like various two blade single spring designs like canoes and my favorite EDC the Case mini copperhead. The best place to find out what us guys like to carry is this thread:

My tastes are all over the place. In no particular order, except for the first one:
Standard sized trappers. What are they, about 4 inches?
Scout patterns, although I only have my SAK's as examples. I love my Wenger SI and Vic Solder
3-1/2 inch stock, Buck 303/Schrade 34OT size
Pen Knives, about 3 inches long
Sodbusters and Opinels of all sizes
Barlows, 3 inch variety
Peanuts

I find 2-1/2 to 2-3/4 is my sweet spot for blade size, although there's something about my yellow Case trapper that catches my fancy time and again. One pattern that has caught my eye is the coke bottle...i must add one to my collection soon. I kinda dig the half Congress too.

Thanks I deleted the link My self

Im really enjoying my case yellow cv trapper, looking forward to trying a peanut of the same flavor. There is just something about the yellar handle knives that just begs to be used and carried, and case's cv ( being my first carbon bladed knife) has made me ditch all that stainless junk i was carrying before! So I'd have to say i really like the trapper pattern and we'll have to see about the lil' jack :)

Pens and jacks, mostly, in the 2.75-3.5" range. I have especially become interested in spear point main blades as of late.

I like long, slim blades like the CSC half moon trapper, a favorite knife.
Just about anything with a Wharncliffe blade. (Case sway back gent.)
Just about anything made by John Lloyd.
Toothpicks.

It is okay to post links to makers or dealers that are members and support the forum through the appropriate membership. Dealer members will have GREEN member names on their posts. My forum name shows up as "Gold" because I am a gold level paid member. You'll learn as you go. You can find out the dealer members by going to the exchange looking around there.

Welcome to the forum, it is a very nice place with very nice folks.

As I mentioned before, I like single blade knives. There is a "single blade slipjoint" thread here. You might want to take a look at it. That other thread I linked to above might just be hazardous to your wallet, so be careful in there.

Meanwhile, back the ranch, we were discussing favorite patterns.
Personally, I'm partial to the stockman pattern. As a young man I carried one every day for more than a decade. It sort of imprinted the pattern on me.

I started out carrying various types of knives as a boy, since about age 23 I changed after being gifted a Case slimline trapper. Today, I like larger one blade knives, from 4" and up closed.

Try several different patterns starting with cheaper models and let yourself gravitate through use to the type that most fits your fancy and needs. That's the enjoyable part of this knife lifestyle!

Being a newbie in the traditional knife scene I don't yet know much about different knife styles. I like the Buck 110/112/55 - knives, the handle of my 112 fits my hand well. Aesthetically I like the Case copperlock and the Barlow styles. Copperlock mini has some ergonomical issues, but since it is a gentlemans/light use knife to me it does not matter much. I would very muck like to see a some larger Barlows and try their ergonomics.

2 bladers. Trappers mostly, & jack knife. I've bought a couple of muskrats, expecting to like them, but haven't got around to carrying them.
Something about a common hinge appeals.

Jacks in a pocket friendly size, from peanut to medium Texas jacks. Jacks in general, I just like the two blade layout. Clip main and small pen in particular. An occasional pen like a Buck 309 or Boker 240. Medium stockmen, and SAK's that are no more than two layer, like recruit, tinker, pioneer and the old Wenger SI.

Congress patterns. I love the upward bend in the spine. Fits great in my hand. The duplicate blades in most Congress patterns my turn some people off but not me. GEC makes a great one.
