Lots of the time these days I carry a one of a kind Storm II from Kershaw that I have but for quite a while I've always drifted back repeatedly to the same user. It is dawg ugly. So much so that trying to make this knife look good anywhere but in the hand is about impossible.
Originally this was a prototype I built to send to Sal Glesser to look at. The blade was a different shape then but when it was rejected I sent it off to Dan over at Bob Dozier's shop and he consented to heat treat it and the lockbar for me since I've always liked what they do with D2. I never much cared what it looked like but its been a great user for a long time.
I plan to make somemore opening hole models since I'm licensed to use it by Spyderco. But it will have to be spanned out over time down the road between other jobs. Hopefully the next ones will look better than this old gal.
I can't imagine one working much better though.
Oh yeah. I got the idea for doing a Micarta body with no liners underneath from an A.G.Russel Brute when I was by his shop to meet with him one day. It made for a lightweight folder even when its large like this one. This big folder only weighs in at 3 ounces and its just over 8" long open. Its also one of the smoothest opening folders I own.
Thanks for looking.
