Hey beckerheads, what would you recommend for a comfortable belt to carry some knives and gear in the woods? I'd like something beefy enough to easily support my bk2. What do you all use?

I use a military pistle belt. But one of the older ones with out the buckle. I like that's it's really rigid so it will sit on my hips, which helps when I have a lot of stuff on it

Not a great picture of the belt, but this is the most comfortable belt I've had for hauling heavy stuff all day. It's a Craftsman tool belt.

Can you buy this separately, or did the tool pouches, etc, come with it?

The tool belt is an interesting idea for outdoors only sort of thing. If you are looking for a more "everyday" like you can wear with jeans or a suit, try looking at some 5.11 dress belts. They are very rigid, designed to support pistol and magazine wear. They may be a bit pricey but they will hold their rigidity for a very long time. Worth every penny. I have one and I really like it.

Yes, the belt is separate and I just add whatever I need for the day.

That's a nice belt. I need to get something like this. Nice to have all the necessaries on one belt, as opposed to putting everything on your regular belt.

I like it because you can put it over your jacket and get to your stuff. Mine is twenty years old. :D I really like Doc's paracord Baldric rig. I need to see if Kay will make me one.

These are some really good options.

I do prefer the idea of a belt that would be dedicated to adventuring in the woods. It doesn't need to be appropriate for grocery shopping or grinding in the club.

I found Condor and 5.11 have very similar and nice nylon belts with a plastic one-piece buckle. Anyone who spends their Saturdays reading through my posts may notice a theme of me looking for lower cost but quality items. Other tactical belts were creeping up to $50 and higher.

Doc Canada, which knife is that? Custom sheath?

I think it's just a Camillus 2 in its stock sheath.

I've used the mil-surplus canvas w/ eye hole belts (whatever the proper name is for them), heavy duty black leather "duty belts" like LEOs/Firemen wear w/ their uniforms and leather belts I've made from blanks via Tandy.

I prefer the OLD mil-surplus style cotton woven versions to the "modern" plastic woven ones. Easily adjustable for wearing over coats/light jackets/no-coat, miscellaneous mil-pouches with the metal bail can hang off them, and other pouches with large belt loops can be used. The only difficulty is modifying a non-mil pouch to have one of the bails. Have used these since dirt was clean.

The one positive of the duty belt is readily available 'stopper' for keeping things from sliding around too easily. Used these for my EMS duty belt for 20+ years.
