While making a sheath today I've noticed that I instinctively made it such that it could be fastened to my left hip since I find that the most natural place to keep a knife (after almost a decade of being a kendo player I just find it odd to have it anywhere else). What about everyone else? Do you have a default position that you keep your knife at?

Clipped in my right front pocket. Also keep another clipped to my pistol ankle holster. Fixed blades ride on my right hip but don't carry them unless I'm hunting.

Clipped to the right front pocket. For me, that's generally a slash pocket on the front of the thigh.

At work - Leatherman Surge in horizontal sheath on right hip about 4 o'clock and Folder in horizontal sheath left front in cross draw position about 11 o'clock .

At home , in the evenings , weekends the same folder clipped inside waistband of trousers right hip about 4 o'clock .

Clipped to IWB feels more natural, is more discreet, and offers faster deployment than pocket carry.

Victorinox Rambler: on my keychain dropped loose RFP.
Modern one-hander: clipped tip-up RFP.
SAK/Traditional (typically 3.5" closed): loose or in a leather slip LFP.
Small fixed: horizontal on my belt at 11 o'clock.
Larger fixed/machete: separate belt, left side for right-handed crossdraw. Or carried in/on a backpack.

I also have a Leatherman tool that I seldom carry, but after buying a sheath with a built-in clip I carry it a little more than I used to. I clip it to my belt at the 4 o'clock position. The sheath also allows the tool to be carried when the pliers are deployed which can be handy.

And no, I don't carry all this stuff on me all the time... :D

large fixed blade: left hip cross draw
small fixed blade: horizontally on small of back
large folder: right front pocket
small folder: right front change pocket

For fixed blades I wear them at either 3 or 9 o'clock mounted vertically iwb. I'm built like a twig so even the smallest blades are very noticeable if I put them anywhere else.

Wow the right pocket seems to be everyone's favourite! I've tried mounting my blade on the small of the back as well like timberweasel but I still can't get used to it... Would it become second nature after a while?

3.5" folder clipped in right front pocket, Dragon Fly or traditional loose in either front pocket, depending...

Missionary!

( actually clipped in my left front pocket most days )
