I've been looking for a new neck knife, but this one has to have two cutting edges - maybe a dagger. Surprisingly, there aren't that many.
I like a nice double hamon [temper line] if the knife is forged, or a cool damascus, but S30V ain't bad.
Corkum does it with two hamons.. Wally Hayes does it in damascus, but he can do anything. There is a Polkowski, but it's ATS 34. I wpnder if Les is getting any in 440V? Gene Martin has some nice daggers in damascus about the right size for neck carry, but I don't know if he uses an inverted sheath. Speaking of versatile sheaths, I'm sure Bud nealy has something with a double edge, and there probably is a Meier damascus option. Neil Blackwood made me one with a sharp top edge in stellite, but that's for kayaking and canoeing so I don't think it counts, being special use and all. No doubt he could make something superb. but I don't know if he has done a dagger yet in dam or "stainless 3V".
What do you think of these and what else is out and about?

Howard,

I have one in the works, been in the works for about a year :(. I made one similar to a while ago that my wife carries. If I can get it back from her, I'll take a pic ! Hers was intended to be a boot knife but once we moved to Florida, it became a neck knife ;)

My thoughts are that a small double edge is a great back up. In a symetrical sheath, with a symetrical grip, it wouldn't matter if it got flipped around either!!

Oh ya! That sounds good :)

But if I were her, I wouldn't give it back either :D

Well I have a very nice Ray Kirk neck knife he custom made for me, actually a neck dagger, his damascus and very sweet GL MOP handles, it was my first custom, and holds a special place in my heart.

Ray does very nice work, you always get a quality knife and sharp? Wow!

That sounds very cool. And I have heard nothing but great things about Mr. Kirk's work. Would you happen to have a picture or a link? I'd love to see it. :)
