I've been revisiting my childhood memories and I distinctly remember the knife i got, it was a Swiss Army Knife, I loved that thing, unfortunately it was lost in the woods about 15 years ago. So whats your favourite Swiss army knife?

Explorer Plus, Compact, and Manager. But if it had to be just one, it would be the Explorer Plus. Its a little thick in the pocket at 4 layers, but it has the right complement of tools for me in a size that I can easily carry.

Explorer Plus.

Swiss Army Knives are really useful and just speak to my inner geek. I can't pick a favorite but I can narrow it down to three : Super Tinker, Fieldmaster, and Swisschamp.

My first knife was a Swiss Army Knife as well. It was a Wenger Backpacker with a small etching of a backpacker on the handle. My stepfather bought it for me circa 1985. I cherished it for years. Then about 6 years later when I was 17 I bent the tip of the small blade when I tried to pry something open (foolish boy !). I tried to flatten it out with a hammer but I ended up breaking the blade.

That knife right there was what got the ball rolling for me. And the knife was really sweet. It had two blades (large and small) , a nice saw and all the usual SAK goodies. Great memories.

I EDC a Tinker 5 days a week, and an Alox Farmer is my woods knife. If I had to choose one, it'd be the Farmer with a key chain Uncle Bills Sliver Gripper attached to the ring. The Farmer blade and awl are both heavier duty and thicker than the other SAKs, and the saw works pretty darned well.

Full size: Huntsman
Smaller: Executive
Alox Soldier also comes in handy and feels indestructible

1. Climber
2. Ranger

But there will be others in the future that could take their places...

I like the 111mm Vic Adventurer a lot and have been carrying it daily for the last 10 years or more. It is essentially a large Tinker with the side lock. I keep spares of that knife and one of the few that I do this with.

Probably my old Wenger SI. It's the same knife as a Victorinox pioneer, but I like the bail. Kind of reminds me of my old scout knife when I was a kid. Since the scout knife was my first knife, I've been a bit prejudiced ever since. I love the basic scout pattern SAK.

My first knife as a child was a SAK as well! Just picked up this yesterday. It's a tinker. Definitely going to be coming with me every day. I also have a classic in my car keys in silver alox that I love.
