After handling the Woodsman I wanted to emulate the handle. Actually even ground the handle on this Shing slightly smaller top to bottom so I could make it a bit rounder like FB's I liked his so well.

Wasn't confident in my ability to fit wood like FB does so I combined some already cut orange G10 and some micarta Shadetree Phenolics/Fod made me out of some hemp canvas I sent him.

Still need to finsh out the handle a little more but here's to the FB effect:thumbup::D

HD that is awesome. I really like the orange and hemp combo. Really sets it off!!!

Man I need to score me a shing.

Looks great! I like the orange G-10 on the inside. Might do it a bit thinner, more like liners myself, but wouldn't complain a bit if the knife was mine!

Thats sweet looking HD, It even looks like a FB. If I didn't read the thread or the stamp on the knife I would say; "when the hell did Andy start doing scandi's!"

Whoa!! Very nice handle there HD. I love the contours. It has a great flow to it. Of all the people I see posting pics of handles they add to knives, yours are the best.

Its funny you say I inspired it really. I don't know if most of y'all know this, but HD has been instrumental in my development as a knifemaker. He taught me what a handle should be. He and Yvsa. The egg shaped slimmer in front than behind was Yvsa. The thick hand filling nature of my handles came from HD. (He also tought me that the edge should come right down to the handle too!) My convex grinds came from HI Khukuri's, and the guys over there like Steve Ferguson and Sarge.

HD, that is tight! I like the color coordination, and in a pinch, I could scrape off some off the handle...:D

That's sweet, HD. I have been inspired by your handles (knife handles:p) as well as Andy's.

I like the "two-tone" effect with the wider bands than one gets with regular liner material and I prefer Micarta over wood, generally. That one is the "best of both worlds.
