FB15PBBK. I like it!

Good comparison pictures, thanks. I have the original street beat and love it! Is the plastic handle of the FB15PBBK more "grippy" than the polished micarta?

Thanks for the pics! I really need to get a Street Bowie. I also have the original Street Beat and it's a great Urban or EDC fixed blade. But the 5 inches of the Bowie would be a great belt knife for me.

They are not Endura “grippy”; but the texture does a great job and they have much more grip than the polished micarta. Should be a bit better job when wet.

I need one.

Loved my original SB, and the LOOKS of the handle, but it was just too slippery for me.

:) I don’t find the polished Micarta a problem.
As long as you have a finger locked in that choil; your hand isn’t going anywhere that it shouldn’t.

I know this knife is not designed as such, but I'd like to see some results of it in action in the woods. Anyone use this outdoors.

The Street Beat is a 3.5 inch bladed knife, which is small enough to just carry in the pocket, if you don’t want to carry it on a belt. It being a small knife; you are not going to be using it to blaze a trail though a bamboo forest or baton logs.

Take it with you out bush and it do as good a job as any small bladed fixed. Plus it will be a safer knife to use compared to most knives out there.

Why safer?

That finger groove makes all the difference. Lock a finger in there and even with the polished micarta; you can be confident that your hand will remain securely on the handle.

Out bush we carry a small knife usually as a back up for the main knife and for those little jobs that the main knife is to big for.
Or because a small knife is so easy to carry and we definitely know for certain that we are not going to need a big knife. (And we all know that Murphy will have something to say about that!)

So when those tasks come up that beyond the limit of a small knife. Are you going go back to get you main knife or just not do the job? No; you are going to use your small knife for it!

This is when your world can quickly turn to crap. Things are going to slip. You’re going be putting a lot pressure on the knife and what ever you are cutting will give and it could give quickly. When the conditions are less than ideal, the chances of things going bad are multiplied.

Not said using the Street Beat is a guarantee against something going wrong. If you do stupid things, stupid things will happen.

Get that finger locked into the groove and thumb on the jimping and you have very secure hold on your knife. Very little chance of the hand slipping.

Plus full tang, so a pretty solid little knife.

Only negative I can find is that the jimping can pretty hard on thumb after a long period of use.

Makes a great steak knife too.
