Mostly I will use it in the backyard to chop some woods. Is the chopping home or afield? Because the b9 carries much better.

I don’t have a BG FBM or a B9 but I do have a few that are very similar.
If it’s for fun they both win.
If I wanted to split wood for awhile, pry open doors or chop down trees it’s the FBM.
If I was hiking and planning on carrying a few things the B11 wins (I like how the basics are extremely fast in hand as well).
The Basics bite quickly , efficiently and accurately . Basics can be used longer without as much fatigue.
The FBM’s I’ve had send wood chips flying and cause a happy grin I couldn’t explain if I tried.
For me the FBM takes a back seat to the Res C options for use (1111, B11, B8 or SOD.. and hopefully a Basic 9 if I can find one).
9 out of 10 times I grab a knife to use its of the Res C variety (INFI, SR101 or SR77).
That Mistress could survive the apocalypse and anything after. The basic could be carried for miles without issue.
I’m still learning, both are AMAZING.
For me it depends.. if I was choosing which one could win in a chop off out of box.. id say the FBM BG due to the weight an fusion handle. However, if I was choosing my go to chopper for being out in the wilderness..I'll pick infi most of the time..the ease of keeping a good edge and the corrosion resistance are such awesome qualities. I've grown to really appreciate it. And I havent heard a single person speak bad about res c when it comes to chopping.
