FBM in a dogfather sheath?

I have seen folks saying that they put their FBMs in the sheath that is designed for the dogfather. Well, I just tried it and the FBM does not fit. It is too wide. Are you guys modifying the sheath so it will fit?

I bought four DF sheaths (one for a DF and a few extras).

My FBM-CG fit in three of them. In one, the knife was a little too wide. Seems that the sheaths vary slightly in terms of the plastic slip width.

You might be able to modify it. Or order another sheath and take your chances.

Mine slid right in, the strap was a little crooked, so I took out the insert and trimmed it to fit.

Does it not fit in both directions ? Mine is happier going in right handed then left handed (the insert has a taper across it) the spine rubs going in one way, but not the other. You may be able to correct the interference by taking out the insert and seeing where it hangs up.

Like I said mine worked great, and I'm real happy with it.

Yeah, my CG's fit no luck on the LE

My DF fit in an RD-9 sheath so you might try one of those if you have one. Maybe?

I was glad I did that little experiment, I pulled out a wet, dirty, rusty FBM out of that sheath

I was using yesterday and was in a rush, didn't wipe it down, just stuck it in the sheath and threw it in the truck.

Wipe them off before putting it in a sheath !! it cleaned right up with a scrubby pad

I recommend you keep an oily rag in your floorboard. That way, you'll have something to blame if your truck ever goes up in flames.

My CGFBM fit the DF sheath perfectly. No problems. The LE will not fit though. Too thick.

I just got two of them yesterday. Neither one fit. However I took out the plastic insert and flipped them around until I found the best fit. They now work fine. If yours doesn't fit you can either make your own insert or flip the (crappy) one around that comes with it.
