FBM LE Sanded Micarta Handles (Pics)

I sanded the handles smooth a while back and just now had a chance to take some photos. The handles are still contoured, but no more ridges - feels silky soft in hand!

Have you done any heavy or hard work with it --- enough to determine if it's still secure in hand?

I have not chopped anything up since sanding it...I wanted to take photos while it's still pretty.

I used 80 grit and finished with 120 grit sandpaper (hand sanded everything). Basically I just followed the contours and removed the ridges. It's still grippy and fills up my hand so I imagine that hard work will not be an issue. I'll try and take photos after I split some logs or something.

So how long did you take to do it?? Micarta is pretty tough stuff.

Not very long, maybe a couple hours at the most if I remember correctly.
