First off let me say THANK GOD Jerry decided to make BMs again... I sold my SHBM a few years back and have missed it since. Now... I've just picked up a FBM CG from a board member and I have an LE on order... and will probably get another FBM CG just to have a back up to the other in case I ever want to send it off for service or whatever. Given that I'm more than likely going to have two FBM CGs... Should I use the LE? Or should I keep it nice and warm and oiled in my safe for collector purposes. I know a knife should be used... but I'll have two other work horse capable to holding the load and that LE is gonna be so pretty... It might be best left so that people can just drool on it. What do you guys think?

I intend to use mine. I couldn't afford 2 -- or I would have liked to have gotten 1 for use and 1 for the safe.

Down the road, the users will sell for ALMOST as much as the safe queens. So what's better - maybe making an extra hundred bucks or so on a safe queen, or having a ball beating the snot out of the biggest baddest blade in the land for the next few years??? I say use it

BTW, I'm using the LE, but my CG is staying in the safe for now ;)

Use it if your heart tells u so!!!

if you sell FBMLE user for over $1000+, I am sure the buyer who hv money for a $1000+ blade, will come out a few houndred sent used LE back to Busse for a refinish to be a safe Queen again :D

Yeah, I say use it! I'll use mine when it gets here. What's the worst you can do to it? Maybe put some scratches in the blade. And thats nothing some fine sandpaper can't take care of. Plus this way, not only will people drool on it at your house, even more people will drool on it when they see you using it and see what it can do!

When I get mine FBMLE, I'll abuse her like she deserves:thumbup:

After many years of buying and selling knives I have come to the conclusion that if I am going to buy it, I am going to use it. Be it anything. I couldn't have a Brand new porche and keep her locked up in a garage either. I prefer the coated blades better for maintenace reasons and because i don't like the way a satin finished blade looks scratched. (but I don't mind a worn coating as long as it's not chipped) A tumbled version would be super nice like a sebenza. I can see your point though, since you already have two users. I once had two Surefire M6's with four extra lamps for both, a spares carrier, Lens filter and over 100 spare batteries. One was a user, the other one was in a customized pelican case to hold all the goods, plus four dozen extra batteries. It was my safe queen. After while I decided I didn't need two. So I sold one along with a couple other surefires. I now have a L5 and M6. Happy as ever. If it begins to bother you that it's just sitting there, just sell it, or use it.

You make the choice Unbreakable. I think it is Unbreakable though:thumbup:

I've found the best way is to try breaking them by chopping wood. The last one standing gets........ well.............Blisters:D
