I don't have any yet, having the edge re-ground by Bill Siegle (en route), but also thinking of sanding the Corrugations off. Has anyone done this? If so, I.....and I'm sure others would be happy to see pics. Or just pics of ANY mods you've done, or had done by someone.

I think I may just get a Tialn coating on mine after some more wear and switch the tube fasteners for slotted screw. As soon as I can locate some. Any suggestions on where to find them? I'll have to check out the hardware store.
 
I believe VTW has done this... I know for sure that he stripped the paint off of his CGFBM, and gave it a zero edge... I am sure that I remember him saying that he sandpapered the groves down....

Correct me if I'm wrong VTW... too early in the morning, too much to drink last night, and too much work to deal with as well :(

Darn!! How could I have forgotten those lovely teeth?? DOH!

so pbubsy, I'm sure there are others there who can post current mods... hopefully they will.. I have none yet as my FBM is still way too new to start experimenting with, for my liking anyways, VTW is just too creative and has inspiration coming out of his ears ;)
 
Pics please!!! I have 2 FBMs and I have been thinking about modding one of them...

Why not again tube fasteners they look by far better as slotted scerws

Does Bill do a good job? I am going to give re-profiling mine a chance tonight and if it doesn't work I'm sending it off. I can't get the dang thing sharp for nothing and I've been sharpening knives with great results for years. It's not me... it's the knife.
 
I personally don't have any experience with Bill's work, but from what I've heard, he's excellent. I HAVE dealt with him in other ways and he's most definitely the kind of guy you'll never have a bad experience with. Great communication, great guy.
 
You guys are killing me with those pictures. I'm very tempted to try one of those mirror finishes!!! :D

Bill Siegle could sharpen a BRICK!!!!!!

He is a MASTER in making things sharp!!!!

You will be VERY HAPPY with whatever he sharpens for you!!!!!!!!!!!!
