FBM performance question

Guys,
I am considering getting a FBM but I want the best chopper of the bunch.
I am looking for feed back on performance of FBM. How do the different variations compare when chopping wood? How do the different grinds and thicknesses stack against each other?

Thanks

IMHO the CG NMFBM is the monster chopper. I have the first run, skinny, model at 0.25" thick, and have reprofiled it with a thinner convexed edge. The weight behind the improved edge geometry makes for a great chopper. Having said that, I think the CG FBM is the best all-around FBM.

Some veterans here favor the FBM SE variant that is full height flat ground at 0.27" thickness. Probably will be tough to find.

The cg fbm is really nice if you have to swing alot. As in an hour or more. I really like the ffbm for the follow with the extra weight. With the weight come's more pain in toting it around. The cbt fbm is not a light weight either. Six hour's with one on your belt and you know it. The ffbm is my favorite for all around use.

The CGFBM is a great chopper. What is included in the bunch you're considering?

FBM, there are a bunch of variations, in grind and thickness.

Oh ok cool. Yeah there are a few. I say by the first one you see at a price you're willing to pay. None of them will let you down.

The CGFBM is a great all around blade. Versatile, fast in the hand and a powerful chopper. Some people may say CBT is a bunch of crap but I beg to differ. Depending on the type of material your chopping others my tend to stick, not the CGFBM. The CBT gives the blade enough surface break that it allows the blade to pop out of the material.

Having owed most of the FBM variations (not all) I can say without a doubt that I love them all :). I have a special place in my heart for the FBM le, CGFBM as well as the .27 full flat ground model resinguy's talking about. That being said I'm very curious to see how my new ASHBM is going to compare. My card just got dinged so it won't be long now :D. I'm going to try to post a full review of how it compares to the others I have.

All that being said I totally agree with jd4320t "None of them will let you down."

Pics are fun :).

Thanks a lot for the pics and opinion.
The LE is full flat grind correct?

Wayne, you're making me regret selling mine. :(

IIRC, you are a fan of the 0.27" flat ground variants, correct?

Hey Guy!

I do love the .270" full flat.... It's the best of the FBMs in my opinion. I just love the recurve on the one I posted, it's drop dead sexy and still my favorite Fusion BM!
