Good evening gentlemen.
I am a Busse Newbie. I have had a satin CG Game Warden for a couple of years and it has served me very well. I am saving up for a Mistress and have a question about the blade grinds. What are the pros/cons with Sabre and/or full height grinds on this particular blade? Does it affect balance/performance. Are these knives as sexy in person as the pics depict? Will owning one ruin me and leave me no choice except to buy an NMSFNO and. KZ2 LE to keep it from getting lonely?

:eek:HELP

Saber grind may help reduce weight over a full flat grind with the same grind angle. If they are the same thickness, and therefore not the same angle, the saber may have an advantage in splitting as the transition to the flats is somewhat abrupt and can push apart the wood. In chopping or cutting this transition may create a bind spot. Full flat should be a better cutting shape.

I think getting a NMSFNO is almost mandatory, it's such a great knife.

I have found the following:

Convex grind is strongest and heaviest, then saber grind, then flat. THe flat will have the most neutral balance and easier to wield and to do more intricate task. THe saber is great in between and if you do a lot of batonning as it will definitely help with splittling.

Knives are sexier in person especially when used, and yes you will need others:D

Yes to your question of whether getting the big Busse will ruin you. I had wanted one for years and finally got my first about a month ago. I now have 3 - a thick ASH-1, an FFBM and a Tank Buster (which seems tiny now). All I do is check for Busses for sale now and compare other knives, even high end ones to my FFBM and ASH - I'm addicted to big thick knives now.

Hey Chris nice to see you back shopping. A FFBM .32 thick with a saber grind is one you just can't beat, I mean you can't beat it enough.
