All you lucky hogs that were able to score the super-cool FBM SE 2007, how does it compare to the CGFBM? Are the two knives similar in weight or is the SE significantly lighter? I am thinking about trying (LOL) to score one and would like to know how they compare to make up my mind.

I can only tell you what I've seen in the pics. The FBM SE has elements of both the LE (grind lines of the spine) and the FFBM (saber ground and probably on the fat side).

I'll let one of the actual owners of both weigh in with better info.

The SE is exactly like the HH at the company store except it is double cut and good luck scoring one. Much heavier than the CG.

Alex, do you have a SHBM? :D

Good luck finding a SE FBM. I saw maybe 10 or 12 come out from under the counter at Blade.

I can get a pic at some point with mine next to a CG FBM. Till then, these will have to suffice.

Yes, I had to get vicious with Jerry on those. BM's are mine, mine, mine, mine, and Jerry was handing them out and purposely avoiding me, but Cobalt was not to be denied and I snatched them from his hands as he was walking to the other end of the stand.

One was just sold on this forum on Sunday. I thought it was a .25 inch thickness platform not a .32 inch one like the fatties.

No I don't have a Straight handled Mistress. The only Mistresses I have ever had were the Zero Tolerance and the CGFBM.

I just plain got lucky. One sheath got tossed to the back and was about to be thrown back into the trough. The person beside me asked, "Do you want it?" I wasted no time. That person knows who she is and has my gratitude.

The ffbm also has the grind lines of the LE's spine. So basically it looks like a ffbm with a different finish/handle color, swedge grind. Or you could say like an LE with a different handle color?

The swedge toward the tip of the spine was what I was referring to as being similar to the LE's. The FFBMs don't have that swedge.

The SE is basically an HH with the swedge. They differ from the LE in that they are sabre ground and heavier with more weight forward.

Yeah, someone sold one for their son for $600.

Greg

600 bucks. That's cheap. Boy the cost of my hotel bill was over $700 and my gasoline for my huge truck was $300 and the food bill was easily $300 plus drinks another $200, so that's $1500. Plus $527 for the SE cost. I guess my SE is worth about $2027 :D
