FBM sheaths?

what are you guys planning on doing for sheaths?

this is my first Busse and i have no idea what i'm doing :)

should i wait a while or order the sheath now? how long do they generally take? should i wait until they have made a few for this knife first?

can anyone break down some of the options?
 
I'll be making my own for mine most likely. Kydex and leather, but I probably will not get in a big hurry.

Oh yeah, as far as a wait for a sheath, you will have to wait until the start getting delivered since no of the sheath makers will have one until then, in all likelyhood.
 
I'm thinkin of trying this keye-decks stuff..... :p

Not sure about naugha hyde, but it sounds cool! :)

I hear that lethr will rust my blade overnight so I'm avoiding that stuff! :eek:

ok, well then, theres only one choice! one of those bulletproof cardboard and duct tape wonder sheaths!!! :D

For those of us who might want to try our hands at this, where is a decent source for supplies?
 
Thanks, but I should have specified I was looking for dead cow and other skins.
 
For overall selection and stuff for anything from the hobbyist to the pro its hard to beat Tandy/Leather Factory. They have kits that have everything one could want to start with and they range from the basics to a full blown shop in a box. Be sure to look into the discount club. :)

Since I'm new to big blades and have no idea what the hell one would need to carry one of these around, I sent an email to Armoralleather and told them under what conditions I’d use the knife and asked that they help me get the right rig.

They got back to me in a flash and were very helpful. They were so nice I’m buying one from them and not looking any further.:thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:

i was looking at something more like the Semper Paratus Tactical sheaths, but i'm not sure how much i should be looking to pay, etc...
 
Nearly all my Busses were Leatherhog clothes. But I have a special project in mind and feel like experimenting.
 
Cool! :) I'd be more than happy to help you along in your project! A sheath project thread might be kind of nice as well. :D
 
Dwayne is the leather master! Thanks for the advice in the past. I always look forward to any hints you throw out to us leather whelps.

pro...I live 15 minutes from Zack Whites..lol...I deal with Tim and Ronnie every time I go in there:p

I cant wait to get my hands on one of those FBM's..Dude I work with told me that he ordered a CCFBM and a LEFBM...Wants me to make him some pants for it..WOOHOO I finally get to fondle some INFI!!:thumbup:

If I may make a suggestion for a LEATHER sheath?? Go with Armoralleather.com for your Busse needs...Yea I am a big fan of his:D

Kydex?? Buy Brown BABY!!!<~~great stuff!


Home rolled?? Fun to try if ya got the stuff for it...For a FBM?? A couple sq ft of 9-10oz and some needles and thread and a drill press and you are all set...A belt sander doesnt hurt ...If I can help lemme know!
 
I closed a deal with Armoralleather today for a rig for the FBM. The fun I had talking with them was worth half the price of the sheath.
 
Leatherman is awesome. He's making me my special design sheaths for my BM's and SH's.
 
When I get the blade 1 hr later, wellah. New shealth Kydex, maybe black, no concealdex?
Just not sure. Will give away one I don't like!!!
