First, the location:

Not knowing just how much she could take, I started off slowly...

...VERY SLOWLY

Here she is cutting my lunch, a PB&J made by my much better half prior to an afternoon hike.

Ok, I'll admit it--that wasn't too tough. Meet the real challenger--

A dead fallen tree with VERY hard wood. I think it was some variety of oak in a former life.

I would guess that the circumference of the trunk was slightly north of 17", but of course, she came through with hardly a scratch.

A pic of one of my boys who was along for the fun. He may look like he is watching dad and the camera, but trust me--he is eyeballing that FBMLE behind those sunglasses and thinking, "Can I keep this  knife?"

Since I wasn't camping and I was not going to be needing firewood, I decided if I could do something a little more delicate with the knife rather than just mow down the forest.

And of course, no mountain is complete without a clear mountain stream. I didn't even realize that I could see the FBMLE through the water until I got home and saw the pic. Pretty cool IMO.

The view from a bit higher up...

When we got back down to a lower elevation, we found about eight of these folks just walking around having a little feast. I was probably within 10-12 feet when I took this pic. And you know what I'm thinking, don't you? FBMLE vs. wild turkey.

Ok, ok, j/k!!! But I did find a sizeable tree with a pretty gnarled trunk that she couldn't resist. After all the fun, I might just have to take her back out again next weekend too!

Awesome pix. I think you screwed your warranty up on the FBMLE after the Peanut Butter stunt. Same thing happened to me. :(

;)

Great Job! Dang...all these beautiful scenic picture threads are really getting to me!:grumpy: I need mountains, trees, and some heat with no rain!!!!

errr, sorry! Got a little whiny there...Congrats bro, looks like you and the fam had a great time!!!!!

OMG, you suck so bad! I missed out on bidding on this #37 when it was on that auction site. What's worse than not getting it to be an LE companion to my #37 Sus Scrofa is knowing what you snagged that beauty for (way below list). YOU SUCK.

Oh yeah, thanks for the great pics. Glad she went to a good home and will receive the abuse she was made for.

Yup... cool shots there.

Also good to see photos of some decent weather.... it's been a while since I saw sunlight.

Cheers. :)

Very cool pics. Man... East Coast just doesn't offer the same scenery. Thanks for sharing!!

Way to go to use that FBMLE:thumbup:

Great story and nice pics!
