FBMLE question

I scored FBMLE. It is a beast! I love the thickness of the blade. And the design of this BM is simply unbeatable.
Micarta scales are also stunning. I’m just not sure if it is Snakeskin or Tigerhide? I believe it is Snakeskin but found both options online…
Would appreciate any help. Thanks guys!

Those are a nice color blend. The Tigerhide that I've seen in the past is different than that. I don't recall hearing or seeing of the Snakeskin, but they do kind of look like they could be.
One of the ole' school Hogs will chime in with an answer for you sooner or later.

But if I remember correctly the FBM LE's all had tigerhide on them

That is three different knives all look to have tigerhide

Thanks David! I don’t have much information from the seller. But I think there was only one run of FBMLE in 2006. So the scales will be probably 99% Tigerhide. In daylight they look pretty similar to your photos. I will post better pics tomorrow.

This FBMLE is a user and was modified into convex by previous owner. Otherwise it is in very good condition.
It is my fifth Battle Mistress and I like it a lot.

My memory says the LE’s were all Tiger as DB said. Mine was and I don’t recall options to choose.

1. Snakeskin micarta material handles were never Magnum thickness by itself; the FBM LE version has Magnum thickness handles
2. Snakeskin on an FBM looks like this :

Those are beauties. The thickness was pretty incredible and the finish was delightful. I was in awe when mine arrived.
