FBMLEs - BC vs BCS - Notice any differences?

These aren't the greatest pictures but I've noticed a couple of subtle differences between #239 that I ordered from BC and #852 that I ordered from BCS:

#852 has a 'penetrator tip' and the grind also seems more of a 'chisel' look to it vs #239 that has more of an obvious convex grind that meets seemlessly with the rest of the blade.

a) Has anyone else noticed this?
b) Which do you prefer and why and which would you make your user?

Thanks

I've noticed variation in the edge grinds on all of the Busse's I have purchased. Even with the game wardens I bought from BCS; same knives, same shipment, edge grinds significantly different. I have always just chalked it up to the hand applied final edge. Doesn't really bother me:D I enjoy....customizing..my blades to my personal specs, although I can see where that may be less satisfying to others:o

Which one to use? I thought ordering two meant one for each hand! :D

I don't have LE's, but My Muddy FBM from the BCS had a much thinner edge on it than the FBM I got fron BC. I've noticed the thinner edge in pics of other Muddies, too.

I noticed a big difference in the 2 consecutively numbered FBMLE's I've got. One's got a short penetrator tip type grind and the other has a long, clean swedge. For some reason I like the little penetrator tip more :p

busse's are semi production blades, even though there is a lot of cnc used there is also quite a bit of hand work involved too. all busse's are hand sharpened and i'm sure different workers are qualified to do this so there may be some difference.

also depends on how drunk they are....

I also like the penetrator tip....Unfortunately the earlier numbered blade with the nice acute convex grind is the one without the penetrator....thus the quandrey over which to use. Well I guess that's what's called a problem of 'prosperity' :D

It seems like one was on a slack belt and the other on either a tighter slack belt, a table, or a platen. I'd use the one that has the rounded top because it seems like there are more of those around.
