Im Staying at the MGM Grand. Will be using Taxi's and dont really have an aggenda other than to see the show that im going for.
Shooting machine guns would be awesome. Where can you do that?
Any awesome knife shops in Vegas? Pawnshops that have large knife inventories?
I will be with some co-workers but we will do our own thing after the show unless their are common interests. One night we have to find the Best strip club. Another night just poke around the main drag. Maybe see a show. Not really into Tom Jones(In our Hotel) or Celine Dion. Kind of want to see as much as possible in the short time I have there.
Hi Kelly; there are at least two different guns shops in town that rent machine guns to shoot right there. Usually your room will have a desk full of coupons for different activities, usually including money saving coupons at one or the other. I don't know which is a better bang for the buck, but I prefer the gunshop "American Shooters". Rent depends on firearm chosen, then they hit you for ammo. If shooting a machine is a once in a lifetime thing for ya; bit the bullet and buy at least a couple mags of ammo. It will be over before you know it.
I never hit the pawnshops...been meaning to, but there is a knife shop stacked to the gills in a shopping center on the corner of West Sahara and I believe Valley View. Seemed to have a lot of different brands.
There are to many strip clubs to count, some are full nudity and do serve alcohol, some are tops-n-thongs, some can't serve alcohol at all. I don't go to any of them so I can't give any pointers in that regard. I know there are some top notch entertainers employed at many of them though.
For the big shows, I'm partial to Blue Man Group (humor, weird visuals, lots of funky drum and horn music), Penn and Teller (magic, mixed with dark humor/fake gore), or the various Cirque Du Solei' shows. A new show of Monty Python is supposed to be pretty funny if you like Monty Python/Holy Grail Humor.
Like the other poster said, the view from the Rio is great, and you can star watch across the street at the Palms.
In general Booze and gambling are cheaper the further north you move up the strip to the older casinos.
Wear comfy shoes on your walkabout, the distances are longer than they look; take the monorail is possible. Bring a jacket, it is the desert but you can still get cold.
You can rent a ride to the Grand Canyon, but don't go unless the flight is near dusk because the Grand Canyon's colors and view are 100x better at dusk.
Hope this gets to you before your trip.
