This is One for the ACE show I wanted to do something big for the show and push my limits so hear it is. It just about kicked my but. but I fought hard as I new what I wanted to do. the the bolsters are forge welded to the frame no pins a big brake through for me as it opened many doors. I look forward to doing a simple knife now.

Dave, the feather pattern makes an excellent D guard!

You know, I've never actually seen one of your knives in person. Hope I can at Blade.

David

Thank you all so much those words mean a lot to me coming from such a fine group of makers. but I have to go to work now see you tonight.

COOL Dave. The blade pattern looks great, but the feather on the guard is exceptionally nice.

That's one i'd like to see in person!

Peter

that's freakin awesome! Way to go Dave, that's stepping it up a notch, especially the design. Super flowy:thumbup::cool:

Dave,

Congratulations on a great piece. Love the mosaic damascus blade and agree the feather pattern D-Guard suits the piece quite well. Hope to see it along with a batch of nice pieces from you all next month at the ACE Show. Can't wait to get out there.

Good going, Jon

Dave that is superb, what a knife. I been wanting to try forge welding bolsters on, do you have any tips?

Fantastic knife sir!, Just stunning.....

i bet the bolster welding was a pita, also looking forward to any tips :)

There's so many good things going on with this piece.
I agree with David, the feather pattern just "fits' a D guard so well.
You're charging forward.

Thank you all again This has made it all worth the work thought and time I put in on the knife. Mike after the ACE show I will do a short WIP on how I forge weld the bolsters on. as I will make a forge welded frame handle knife for Blade show.

Not too shabby for a broke down ol blacksmith! One of these days you are going to get that feather pattern down pat if you keep trying buddy! I'd like to hold that one in my hand Dave.

Dave that is such a great knife, it looks so comfortable and a pleasure to handle and use!

I usually find the "D" guard knives look a bit clumsy. But not this one!!
