I wanted to share this latest one with you guys. I did a feather but really wanted to drag out the "quill" and have it transition abruptly to the edges so it has a bit of an estuary look. The blade is 616 layers of 52100/15N20, 273mm (10.75in) of edge and 436mm (17.16in) overall. I made feather mokume for the bolster and butt cap. I haven't seen anyone do this before but I'm going to assume it's been done - it seems like an obvious accessory. The main is two-tone rosewood burl. It's also getting a cocobolo saya with a feather mokume keeper pin. Thanks for looking and please let me know of any questions.

Amazing. I honestly have never really cared for mokume. Yours on the other hand looks awesome, never seen it done like that. Very nice work.

Good lord.
I hope that's going to a pro!

Glad I could change your mind about the mokume. Maybe the future holds a mokume menuki?

You build a feather blade and menuki and I'll finish it out and sheath it.

Damn that is just insanely clean. I love that it has a nice damascus pattern and a crazy burl for a handle, but the knife itself doesn't look busy.
