Thanks John...my wife (:)) just commented that the two on the right look "more primative" thanthose she is used to seeing...do you have any info on them?
 
Nasty, your wife's observation about the chakmaks being "primative" points out that those blades were left rough to facilitate their purpose. The small ivory grips match the quality of the kukri's handle with very nice carving. The engraved pommel design is quite exquisite and has Western influences.

The knife is a sirupate from the last part of the 19thc and while made in Nepal the ivory work may have been done by an Indian craftsman. It's a big sucker at 20.25" and it is anyone's guess whom it was made for.

That's a great start for February. If all it takes is a calendar and information....

The calendars are my small attempt to thank all of you for your support and interest. This is a helluva group.
