Well I have to say that Im a die hard spyderco an BM fan, but I just got the mach 1 today and all I have to say is wow! I definately just got my new EDC. Ive read many post about how emerson'e QC is sub par but I just dont see it. I love this knife. Lock up is solid in all directions and the knife came extremely sharp out of the box. The G10 feels better than my millie Which Ive carried everyday for the last 2 years. Shes gonna get a well deserved rest. The knife seems perfect in every aspect. Ill end this by saying that EKI has a new fan. Thanx.

welcome to the club, I personally don't care much for Benchmades, they are decent but I just can't stand hardcore BM owners bash EKI because it uses linerlock. big freaking deal, at least I know that my Emersons(CQC&B, Mini_Commander, Combat Karambit) are precision cutting instruments rather than prybars and saws that some people believe knives should be. The only other knife that I came to like as much is Camillus Robo Dominator, but I will always carry an Emerson everyday.

Most Emerson bashing is sour grapes. As other companies spend their money on advertising, Ernie just had his best year ever, without spending anything on advertising. Word of mouth by people who rely on a well-made blade are all it took. As you just found out yourself, Emersons rock!

You know, I wasn't sure what the quality of Emerson knives would be, but I got a Mach 1 not too long ago in a trade and I know I'M certainly surprised by the quality. It was easily the equal of the BM 710 that I had before. It may be different since it has a chisel grind, but it certainly is a lovely knife. I'd almost go for the M-wave, but I think the wave option- while novel and useful- cuts down on the overall knife in the case of the Mach 1. It honestly looks kinda like a fighter jet to me, and I think its VERY nice. The G-10 is grippy, and the extra rough cut-outs in the Ti liners are such that you can really feel if the liner is moving or not. I think its ergos are just dead on. The only thing I can't figure out is why the second Lanyard hole? Recently ordered a CQC7b Green Specwar to carry EDC (gift from someone for valentine's day that they wanted me to pick out). If it lives up to the QC of the Mach, it should be a VERY nice knife indeed.

Sincerely,
Anthony
