Fed Up With This Sheath

OK, so, retention wise the izula sheath is the best I've ever owned, hands down, the blade snaps into place with absolutely no hint of play or wiggle.

But, I am fed up with trying to wear it on my belt, I would have preferred either two sets of holes or two dedicated belt loops instead of half of both. I wear it vertical because it's too hard to conceal for me horizontal. I've made belt loops out of paracord but with the belt loop side I can't pull the paracord tight enough to prevent it from being loose on my belt.

So what are my aftermarket options? I've looked at double barrel sheaths but they seem to do a taco style with only one set of holes, I'd like a pancake style kydex sheath with two sets of holes for paracord loops, I've searched but I can't find anything, anybody able to help me out?

Small Tek-Lok. Works wonders for Horizontal belt carry. I've got it on one izzy sheath, and another izzy sheath that's wrapped in paracord, gorrilla tape, and has as small firesteel for pocket carry.

took pic for another thread. That is why the 0551 is in there . I have been wearing on belt right above butt crack . I find it easy to conceal there and even forget I'm wearing sometimes.

Love the new belt clip! It is a MUST!

Not a belt clip ... it's a molle lock intended for the molle carry system. People do use it on the belt though. I find it's not secure enough with one and too bulky with two on the belt for a small knife like the Izula.

Wearing it above your buttcrack is a dangerous place for it ... don't fall on your tailbone.

No....really...

The belt clip does rock.

The MOLLE clips are different. I hate them.

The photo above shows a molle lock, not a belt clip. It's what I was referring to. Though bulky, I don't mind either when used for their respective application.

is that the male version of a tramp stamp? :D

Yeah, my gf didn't want me wearing it there thinking it might attract the wrong woman to me. But I said baby that's why I carry a stick ,so I can fight them off .

When I had two of them on my4 I hated them . It felt bulky and to tight to slide anywhere. Wearing it with one and the positioning ,I forget its even there. I can draw it easily but when its time to put it away I can slide the sheatth fwd to my hip and easily put knife away. I use folder for any light task so izula isn't drawn to often so that's not a problem either. The only time its drawn is a tougher task or someone says can I use ur blade for a second.its also very secure .its on ur belt wich is tight to u ,I don't see it falling off anytime soon.maybe down the road when it wears abit

Is this what you are talking about? http://www.blade-tech.com/Small-Tek-Lok-w-hardware-pr-837.html

I know you mentioned horizontal carry but I'm looking for vertical, how does it do with vertical carry?

this is exactly what I want but I didn't see it on their website, did I just miss it or was it a custom/limited run thing?

Don't think shotgunner is taking custom orders right now.

How are you setting up the paracord belt loops? I've used paracord and a cord lock on my izula several times with no issues.

when i bought mine (last summer) it wasn't a custom order. he asked me if i wanted fold-over or pancake style and lefty/righty though. the lefty/righty question was where the eyelets were facing (shows excellent attention to detail by the way).

I found if you install the paracord on the sheath and tighten it well first, then pull your belt through the loops, it will hold much tighter.

I've done this with my E4 for EDC and it is as tight as can be and held snug against the body.

In fact I double the paracord for better stability and tie it off tight with a knot at each top hole to keep it snug permanently. The extra tieing you see after the two knots is just to keep some length of cord in case I need to redo it, untie it, tighten it, etc. and out of the way neatly.

Tieing loops on the sheath this way, the paracord will stretch somewhat while inserting the belt through the loops and tighten back up when the belt is removed so it doesn't get sloppy over time and you do away with the cord locks that will come loose with motion. This is what I think is happening to you and you can't get the tight fit you want.

If paracord is good enough to retain the E4 nice and snug, there shouldn't be a problem retaining an Izula sheath nice and tight.
