So to cure the affliction and to temper my anger when I found out one of the few knife shops in Michigan had moved, I went hunting on ebay. First thing I picked off was this 181(2000)

Then a 450 (1998)

Then a short tipped 2 Dot 110

And along came another 450 with a sheath.(1997)

Found a seller with Selector handles to go with my spare 110 and skinner blades.

This 521 said it needed to move to Michigan(1990)

Last but not least I was given this 471 by a coworker(2001)

I'm just waiting on a 301 that is in the mail somewhere to complete the feverish pace I got on. :)

Thats a lot of medication sith, I am impressed and proud. Keep treatin those symptoms:thumbup: That 110 looks real nice aside from the tip-you could send it in for a re-blade and have a basically new knife for 10 bucks:D(oops did I say 10 Bucks...that'll be your next shipment:p)

I would rather keep the short bladed 110, since it's a 2 Dot. Until now I didn't have one, now I do.

Sithus, The Protege came out in 1994 . They have a good feeling handle and decent cutting blade . There were two models offered . Your 181 is the first year they were offered as it has the ATS-34 blade steel . Those also were offered in two models . The other I think is larger than yours . DM

I agree ! I'd keep that one even if I had half a dozen others . DM

Well I wanted one for the lot, and at $20 it was a good deal.

I wanted one of the ATS-34 blades after I got a 186. What is the model number of the larger version?

Sithus, I wish I hadn't said that as I thought 'you know he may ask about that' . Those are not models I collect so I don't know them as thoroughly as others . However, the 181 and 186 were the two models offered . Both of the same size except one had serrations and high end steel and the other a plain blade with 420 steel similiar to the 450 . DM
