This may have been answered in a previous thread. But, does anyone know where to get a Blue FRN Native???

Thanks!

You mean a Blue G-10 Native. No such thing as a Blue FRN Native. Only Black FRN models available, no other color for this handle material.

The Blue G-10 Native, also known as the "Bladeforums" Native, was made with the Bladeforums logo stamped on its blade. Only 500 made = 250 plain + 250 serrated.

You can only get these by "convincing" existing owners of such knives to sell them to you. I suggest you post at the "Knives: Wanted to Buy" forum, and have potential sellers e-mail you. That's how I got both of mine.

You could also get the Black G-10 with Blue shell inlay (plain) or the Auburn shell inlay (serrated). Check SFO or other sellers. Only 1000 0f these made (500 Blue plain, 500 Auburn serrated).

Hope this helps,

Many thanks Flood!
I appreciate the excellent info and detail.

Looks like I'll be checking the resale market...

Probably not the first to say this, but I think that it si about time that the native becomes available in g 10 as a regular production piece. Great looking knife, but one gets sick of frn after a while.

Just my opinion.

I thought they only made 300 of the BF Natives.

Guys, I just bought a blue G-10 Native from a dealer, and there is no Bladeforum Logo,Mark or ID on it, so there must have been a run without the logo, all it has on it is #149. Al

I forget the numbers, but the BF members didn't take all of the blue Natives as they were selling for $99.95 each. This was a shock to us at the time until we looked at what we were getting: G10 scales and a 440V blade, then it didn't seem so expensive. Even so, many didn't buy them and came to regret it later. So Sal sold a bunch throgh the outlet and he also sold a bunch to the collectors' club, which he had planned to do all along, so there are a number, I just don't know how many, floating around that do not have the BladeForums.com logo on them.

Ah yes, I remember it well. You wore blue.

IIRC, it was 300 Bladeforums (half SpydieEdge, half plain) and at least 200 non-Bladeforums. I think I have one of the non-Bladeforums with my collectors' number.

Yeah, try the "Knives Wanted" route here on BF. I bought a plain-edge BF Native that way, but could never bring myself to carry/use it. So in line with my "knives must be functional" policy, I sold it.

Good luck finding one. They're out there.
