Nice big Wharncliffe blade and stag, .41!
Interesting knife!!

Very nice! I've been checking out the current crop of #72 Wharnies in stag on line, and you managed to grab one of the best looking examples I've seen.

Yep...nothing comes close to Stag, apart from a few of Dennis's acrylics.. then again some of Charlie's ebony knives....
Stag + Wharncliff + G.E.C has GOT to be a good knife doesnt it!!!

charlie gec acrylics are really just fluff. stag & good bone are head & shoulders over all other handle materials. thanks for the appreciation though.

These are not for sale, so I can show a couple pictures.

Some Genuine Stag models, no shield and non-burnt stag finish.

The lockback is not my favorite GEC pattern, but I am somewhat excited to see the spear offering coming out later...

OK they're not for sale but that No.4 looks just right:D

I'm looking forward to the Spear version too, GEC do that blade very well indeed:thumbup:

Nice stag but that looks like a lot of blade rising up out of the frame. Great for pinching open but still looks a bit much to my eyes.

Also, do the tips of all those blades seat low enough in the frame? Looks like a couple of 'em might have a tip "peeking" but it could just be the way the image portrays 'em.

It did not show up in the mail yesterday :( :( :(

I had time to look at the other ebony lockback post. BEAUTIFUL :D

Now I want an ebony, spearpoint, more stag, cocobolo, more stag,

more cocobolo, more stag and aaaaack !!!!! I need help ;)

It certainly does hang out there, Elliott, but it's really no more protuberant than the Bose-designed mini-Trapper, relative to its size. Guess that's the nature of the beast when you put a Wharnie blade in a Trapper frame.

It's a pretty close thing (not uncommon with GEC Wharnies), but the point on mine is sufficiently well-seated. Fortunately, the kick on these is substantial enough that taking the point down a hair would be an easy fix.

Thanks, Rick. Pretty much what I expected (I guess). Thanks for the info and great images (as always).:cool:

That's a sweet looking knife. Lockback and all. And it's a Wharnie!!! to boot! This forum is going to cost me money. Again. Tonight. - Ed
