Fehrman Knives Waiting Time

I don't think their would consider custom... more like mid tech.
From my experience is about 3-4 weeks. They are nothing but one of the best in business, their hand rubbed satin is beyond impressed.

The 1st photo you posted above is what made me pull the trigger with Fehrman. That Cold Fury looks sweet.
I love the Busse at the bottom left of your 2nd picture though. What model is that?

3-4weeks is average for a Fehrman.
Their main business is a tool and die company, one reason why their understanding of metallurgy is so good. They make tools to cut steel, no wonder their knives are so good.
Their heat treatment takes over 72 hours alone, all computer controlled.
If they do all the steps from blank 3V to stropping, after you order a knife, then I would take several days to complete one knife. (I don't know if that's how they do each order or not.)
It still doesn't explain the wait time, but the results are well worth it. They are as tough as they come, and, more importantly, they hold an edge better than the other "tough" knives.

Three weeks is nothing, I waited 16 months for a custom folder. Some makers have a waiting list of years and years. Welcome to the world of customs, leave your instant gratification needs at the door please.
