Hey guys,

I'm in real need of help trying to decide on my first fixed blade purchase. I'm use to carrying around my folders for daily carry and utility, so I've never had a fixed blade. But now I'm looking for a good strong 5" fixed blade that I could bring with me camping, have for a SHTF scenario, as well as the occasional daily carry when I want to change things up. So pretty much an all around good knife. My research has led me to narrow it down between the Swamp Rat Ratmandu and the Fehrman Last Chance. I wish i can get both but my funds only allow me to get one. So some advice as to which has the better steel, which handle is more comfortable, and which preforms better would be great from anyone who owns both.

Thanks in advance.

I don't have a Swamp rat but I can tell you one thing, you won't be able to brake a Last Chance plus you get a brilliant warranty.
But you should go for the design that you like.

+1 for that. They are both backed up by absolutely amazing warranties, and they're as tough as anything out there. Just pick the one that you like the design of best.
