Just picked up a Ferhman First Strike in satin finish with a Kydex sheath. This is one heck of a knife! It came shaving sharp.

I wasn't impressed with the sheath though. It seems overly wide and the rivets are set (in my opinion) too far away from the blade. I don't know if this design is intentional or not.

Anyone have any experience with their kydex sheaths?

Their kydex sheath is well made, but it's also a little wide. I have the leather sheath for my First Strike and kydex for my Extreme Judgement and Last Chance. I did use a Spec-Ops sheath which worked well with the First Strike. You may have to look at an aftermarket, such as Okuden or Normark and see it they can trim down the width. Great knives BTW, congrats.

Yeah, I guess it's time to bring out the sander and just take this sheath down as close to the rivet as possible.

Very cool knife, though. This is my first really big fixed blade that can't be classified as a Kukri or machete. Haven't taken it afield yet but it does give the impression you could chop down a tree or two if you had to . . .
