When I started collecting knives (in a serious manner) back in the early 1990's, I was infatuated with one-hand opening knives -- Spydies and BM's in particular. But as the years went on, I sold or traded most of my Spydies but kept most of my BM's. Eventually, I got my first Sebenza (about 4 years ago). I EDC'd a BM940, and then a small Sebenza, from 2002 until yesterday . . . when I fell back in love with Spyderco.

Yesterday, I had a face-to-face meeting with another BF member, and I traded him for a Sage 1 and a Sage 2. I traded him 3-for-2, so I'm sure he's pleased with the trade as well. As for myself, I am absolutely thrilled with my new Spydies! Spyderco did a superb job with every aspect of the Sage models, and, rest assured, these will top my EDC rotation for some time to come. I'm especially infatuated with the CF Sage 1. Needless to say, I'm in love with Spyderco . . . again.

You are too kind D, I ended up 2 CF ones myself. One is still sealed in the baggy. Nice to know it's been sealed since it was assembled.

love the sage, got to get one soon. just which one? honestly ti or cf ? pros n cons?

heck maybe both, which one to start with is a better question. lol

The most noticeable difference (other than the aesthetics, that is) is the feeling in the hand. If you prefer more of a textured grip in the handle, then get the CF. If you like a smoother feel, then get the Ti.

If I had to pick one, I'd keep the Ti Sage 2 because (and only because) the frame lock is stronger than the liner lock. That being said, I keep reaching for the CF Sage 1 because it is soooo cool!

The Sage is a great knife. I am hoping to get a Sage II soon. This will have to suffice for now:

What'd you trade off for them? 3 Knives?

Yes, I traded three (2 BM's and one Spydie) for the two Sages. My three together might have been valued at just a little more than the value of the two Sages together, but I was comfortable with the trade nonetheless.

Those are both great knives. I still have the Sage 1 (sold the Sage 2) and have no intention of getting rid of it anytime soon.

Well, you have 2 real pretty knives there. It's a good deal if both parties are happy! :D`
