Benedryl counts when used as such. Got myself hooked on em during the scabies ordeal. Been taking 5 a night. Got to looking forward to taking em.

I'm sorry to hear that. I don't know if it will help, but maybe using a topical will help remove the temptation?

I liked how they made me sleep.

Benadryl isn't physically addictive, so is it a psychological addiction to it? Not that that's better. If anything, it's worse.
Just curious.

Either way, prayers going out for you, bro. No addiction is a good, and they all are a bitch to work through. Hang in there.

If you need crazy person to talk to at late hours, hit me up, and I'll talk. If it helps, I'm there.

Good of you to recognize it and deal with it. Rock on, brother. Considering where you were, and where you are now, you are kicking it. Good luck.

The fact that you recognised what happened for what it was shows how far you've come and it makes you more prepared to regognise it earlier in the future.

Those dang things put me to sleep every time. I was taking them for an allergy and found myself sleeping at work!

I don't use them anymore, they may as well be sleeping pills at least for me (and I just took one each time...)

I take allegra now and it does not make me excessively sleepy.

Good luck!

Charlie, I admire your honesty and courage to do the next right thing. Don't beat yourself up. Your setting a solid foundation for your sobriety. Keep up the good work.

You beat addiction once, you can do it again! Will keep you in my prayers amigo, keep fighting!

I had the same thing happen to me, I was taking 4 a night just to get to bed. Definetly better than drinking to sleep but doesn't help with sobriety!

I switched to melatonin, totally natural, just take 3mg 1 hour before you go to bed. It gives you really vivid dreams and is not mind altering (no breach on you sobriety)

Hang on to the steering wheel and stay on the paved road.
Your better days are ahead of you.

Good luck Charlie, and remember that a good man just keeps getting up, each time he falls. Thats the difference.

Yeah, it lead to the drink...

I'm going to a noon meeting tomorrow to announce myself as a newcomer again.

I've been sober for eight years next month. I still think about it for five minutes at least every day. Sometimes you just gotta stare it in the face and keep moving on. You're doing well to be here.
