Hey all,

As the title suggests, I need a felling axe.

I am 5’8”
Max tree size 14 inches
Budget $100 (I am in the UK btw)

What would the best handle length be? Out of the ones I am looking at, one has a 28” handle, and the other a 32” (excluding the head).

I have been looking at the following:

Are they around the same quality?

Thanks :)

My preference would be the 28" with a little lighter head. I am about the same height and 14" isn't a very big tree.

For current production axes I like council tools axes . I prefer a double bit for felling. My go to axe for felling is marked true temper Vulcan and Kelly, on a 36 inch handle. it was bought new by my late uncle in 1939 or 40. It has been hafted on a 36 inch handle as long as I can remember. I broke the handle out of it throwing it at a tree in 74-75
