has anyone tried the new fenix AAA yet? was wondering if it was a lot brighter than say a arc AAA...........? or any other info, might have to try one......

It is brighter than the Arc, but not much brighter. I played with one and it is one of my favorite lights for its size and price. Anything brighter at that size costs at least twicethe price.

It's brighter, and definitely whiter. To be honest though, I think the Arc is a better light. The Fenix is brighter at first, but you'll only get about an hour runtime from a NiMH rechargable. Which is OK if you don't mind recharging. Runtime kinda sucks with an alkaline. The Arc however will give you 5 hours of useful light from any alkaline. Long after the Fenix dies out (with any kind of battery) the Arc will keep on going. For me, that's more important than initial brightness, since I carry a larger, much brighter light with me anyway, and the light on my keychain is more for back-up or specific uses.

I'm not fond of the angry-blue surrounded by yellow-puke tint of the Arc, but other than that, it's one of the best values in keychain lights around. Myself, I have a CR2 Ion on my keychain, but these are 3x the cost of either the Arc or Fenix.

IMO, the best all-around keychain flashlight is the Jil (unfortunately they're not available at the moment, while updates and revisions are being made). There's a few different kinds. The 1.3W is larger and regulated. The DD (direct drive, no regulation) is smaller, less expensive, and although it's not as bright as the 1.3W, it lasts a looooooooong time. Like 20 hours on a lithium primary. Theres 2 versions of each, TWOH bin (works best with lithium CR2) and the TWOJ bin (works best with lithium ion rechargable RCR2s). Then there's the Jil Intelli which'll take either battery, has 5 user modes with selectable output levels, strobes, etc. Prices range from $65 for a TWOJ DD to $105 for the Intelli.

It's several times as bright as the Arc, and has a beautiful beam. Runtime isn't that great. I've kept my Arc-P as a backup light, strictly because of the runtime, but one of my friends(a longtime Arc fan) now carries a Fenix L0P instead. He's not really happy with runtime on Nimh AAAs, though, and lithiums are just too expensive if you're going to use it a lot.
It's a much more useful light, as far as output and possible uses go, it just doesn't fit a niche for me-not bright enough to be my carry light 'cause I frequently need more throw, especially at work, and not enough runtime to be my "emergency backup".
If you want an ultracompact light with good output, and don't need more than an hour runtime, the L0P is hard to beat, IMO. I want one, just don't know what I'd do with it...

Lots of pertinent issues have already been covered, so I won't repeat them. Bottom line, I have an Arc AAA and a L0P, the Arc is the one that goes with me everyday.

hmmmm, so its not 6X brighter as claimed lol? i guess i'll stick with my arc AAA for now, they are hard to beat, the fenix seems like a ok light though, kinda pricey i guess its as high/higher than the arc AAA.

I really like my L0P. For me, the brightness is most important since I'm not carrying my E2e anymore. It's my main EDC now, I don't think I even need the E2e.
