I have a Fenix EO1 that I've had on my keychain for about a year. It was dead, so I put a new battery in. Still dead. What could be the problem? I didn't drop it or break it. The bulb doesn't look broken but the bulb end seems to be sealed so I can't take it out and replace it.

Any thoughts on how to fix? Its not expensive, but things aren't great right now so I'd have to replace it with a cheapie from WalMart and its much nicer than those.

I have several EO1's, and one of them is deceased as well. You may try cleaning the battery contacts, but beyond that the only remedy is to return it - depending on where you got it and so forth. The emitter may be dead.

Fenix lights have a 2 year warranty. If you bought from 4sevens, for example, they will honor that warranty. Good luck.

I have one on my key chain as well, same experience as OP. Cleaned the contacts, swapped battery to no avail. Try tapping it gently on any hard surface and see if that works. I'm not suggesting this is a fix. I use mine so infrequently and the tap works every time so I'm good with that. At least it might rule out batteries or LED if it lights.

Probably a solder joint or something that came loose. You could try taking it apart to check, but unless you know what you are doing with soldering and all that, it will probably just get worse. Send it back to the dealer if you want, but be warned that warranty service usually takes 2-3 months.

They are cheap, sure, but if they are only going to last less than a year, there is no point to even spending 15-20 on them. I picked up a cheap Energizer led for 5 bucks at Walmart. Probably sufficient for my needs.

good point i missed the part where it went bad within a year. my wife and i abuse ours on our key chain (E01) and they have lasted well over 2-3 years. i guess like anything else you may get a dud once in a while
