I need a little help. What happened to all the AAA Fenix lights? I have the LOD with 5 modes. It seems that whenever I see one for sale today they do not have 5 but only 3 modes. Low, medium and high outputs. What happened to strobe and SOS?
Does anybody offer these little pocket babies?

Fenix took them out of their last three versions of the light, so you will have some trouble finding a new one. You might be able to find a used one on ebay or somewhere else.

If you want a AAA light with strobe, try the 4Sevens Preon I.
 
For every person who liked the SOS and strobe modes on the L0D, there was another who didn't.

It seems Fenix listened to those who didn't want these modes and removed them when they released the LD01.
 
I have a BNIB Fenix L0D with the Rebel 100 emitter I'd sell for the price of a new LD01 shipped. Or trade. I am one of those who'd for go the strobe/SOS.

I think that should be:
For every person who liked the SOS and strobe modes on the L0D, there was another 20 who didn't.

Honestly, how often have you needed either feature on a 1 x AAA light?

Never. But I go out fishing by myself and who knows????? Were you ever a Boy Scout????
 
I have a few L0Ds and they all have the 5 functions apart from the special addition SS one I have. I personally prefer the one with 3 settings over the 5.

The chances are that at least one of the lights I have with me will have strobe & SOS functions, but I generally wouldn't want to rely on the tiny 1 x AAA light to get me noticed in an emergency. I could also use one of my bigger lights with a forward clicky to manually SOS if I had to.
 
why do you need a dedicated SOS function at all?

just covering/uncovering the lamp with your hand in the appropriate pattern will to the job.
 
NO DISRESPECT INTENDED. CALL ME WEIRD (LIKE I'VE NEVER HEARD THAT BEFORE) BUT I LOVE THE 5 FUNCTION LODs. SELL ME YOURS!!!!!
