I recently posted a request for suggestions on a flashlight that would be an alternative to my Surefire E2e: something powerful, but with an LED and using AA batteries. Fenix was recommended and I have been looking at listings and specs for the L2T. If it really will give 3 watts of output on a couple of AA's, priced at around $50.00, then it looks like the baby for me.

OK, I am pretty well set to order one, but I just wanted to ask: what - if anything -is the down side to this flashlight? 3 watts seems like it is pushing that little LED pretty far, but who am I to question that? I just admit to being a born skeptic! Anyone have any negative experience with one of these? Positive experience also welcome.

As always, Thanks!!

Why not go all the way and get the L2D-CE for $3 more? I love mine- haven't noticed any downside, but I'm just a user. For technical stuff, I'd go to Candlepower forums.

i would certainly get the cree eqipped one myself, i dont think the fenix lites have a "downside", great for 2X the $$ really.
